U16's - Match Report (20/09/09)
Barnstaple - Away (Lost 50-3)

Sarries took the long trip north on Sunday with 17 players and played a very well drilled under 16's side.

Both teams tried to run the ball but it was the home side who , made all the breaks. They scored 4 converted tries before the break taking full advantage of the lack- luster tackling offered by the visiting side. The score at the break being 28-3 to the home side, Sam Gibbins kicking the score recorded by Saracens.

Saracens started the second half the stronger and were denied a couple of chances early on by some fine defensive last ditch tackling. Again the visitors tackling was suspect and with the home side consolidating their lead to win the match by 50-3.

This was a stern test for Sarries who , competed well in all areas, but were let down by their first time tackling.
