As the game unfolded it was clear that the game was going to be a massacre with Sarries completely dominating all facets of play. In the forwards, ruck ball, the maul and the scrums were all won clinically and swiftly which enabled the ball to be spun out wide at speed. With the game won by half time with the score standing at 0-50, the Referee decided to open up the second half. Devonport tried to make amends with a couple of prolonged attacks on the Sarries line but with Man of the Match Hallum Curran ripping the ball out of a maul and feeding Little then Sarries broke away leaving their line intact and unbreached. With Watts claiming his second try of the morning and slotting the conversion the conclusion was drawn on the match as the referee bought the match to a close five minutes into the second half giving the visitors a resounding victory in a match that had been eagerly waited for by all concerned. Devonport were still fighting come the end but were without doubt beaten fairly and squarely on the day by a far superior team which ensured that the form book would have to be rewritten. Every travelling Exeter Saracens player could be proud of an excellent display of well disciplined, thought-out, supportive and devastating rugby that left the opposition completely dumbfounded.
