Sidmouth looked hungry and ready for battle where as Sarries seemed content to just go through the motions. That being said it was Sarries first out of the blocks with a planned switch move off of the back of a scrum which saw Ross Watts pound through the gap created and sprint to the line to score. The blustery conditions put paid to the kick as soon as it was taken by Jack Hamlyn. Sarries put up a bit of a better fist of things in the second half with the wind now in their favour. The squad tried to click into their regular playing pattern but Sidmouth were very disruptive and physical at the breakdowns which took any impetus that Sarries had built up straight out of the equation. The tackling improved to a certain degree in the second half but there were still too many half hearted attempts by many. The regular fearless team enforcers were hard at work and slowed the Sidmouth attacks putting in crunching tackles repeatedly. The teams mobility around the park also did not seem to be of the standard that it usually is which left Saracens short at the breakdowns and quite often out numbered.
