U18's Girls - Match Report (14/02/10)
Exeter Saracens/Taunton (55 -v- 40) North Dorset/Cullompton (Home)

Saracens hosted a series of girls games at St Lukes High School as their own pitches were still unplayable. This week players from Exmouth, Taunton, Cullompton and North Dorset got together to make up the teams.

Taunton provided the majority of the forwards and Sarries the backline for this extremely competitive and highly entertaining game. With the forwards providing a solid platform in both the tight and the loose the home side played on the front foot and were able to amke good ground through the phases. As well as some great team play there were also some flashes of individual skill where good crisp passes to players moving at pace broke down a very dogged defence to score some great tries. Take nothing away from the opposition they also moved the ball around with confidence offloading very well in near perfect playing conditions and probably matched Sarries/Taunton for team play but seemed to be asleep at a couple of restarts when the ball was run back for a score on more than one occassion. Sarries ended up with two players on hatricks with both Sophie Reed and Holly Beaven ending the afternoon on three each. Becki White scored for the second week in a row in only her second game, Steph Papp and Alice Holden also touched down. Carey Wellby had a good afternoon with the boot as she kicked five conversions. Sarries "Girl ot the Game" went to Sophie Reed as not only did she get her hatrick she made some strong breaks supported well but also put in some amazing tackles. Cullompton's Emily Underwood finished off a very good move to score for the visitors.
